Girly Girl

Navy Tie Top: Forever XXI.  Short Sleeve Cardi: Macy’s.  Belt: Gifted.  Skirt: Mossimo.  Shoes: Fioni.

It’s hard to tell in the above pic, but this little sweater has the most precious rosettes!  I always adore those feminine soft details.  Silk bow, rosettes, pleated skirt, pink belt, ruffled polka dot peep toes… yep, definitely a girly girl today.

Anniversary Day

DSCF5308It’s anniversary day!  Over the weekend, my boyfriend and I celebrated his grandparents’ 54th year wedding anniversary (how fabulous is that?!?), and this week is my boyfriend and my 5 year anniversary.  No it’s not a wedding anniversary…, but I think we’re doing pretty damn good – ring or no ring.  I’m a very lucky woman, and he is definitely a very lucky man  ;)

As for the clothes – I wanted to wear something that was special, but not too dressy or “notice me”.  I love this silk dress and it feels like a nightgown, so all I had to do was add a few accessories to finish the look and I was ready to go.

Tulip Dress

Dress: Cincinnati Swapped!  Belt: Macy’s.  Bracelet: Forever XXI.

I love the pretty little pearls on the collar of this dress, and the puffy little “tulip” cap sleeves (the hem of the dress reminds me of a tulip too).  What a great swap find!!  It’s a bit long, so I could see how it wouldn’t be a fit for everyone, but it works for me!  It’s also sheer, so you have to wear something underneath; I found a simple black dress worked perfectly.

Weekend eating & shopping w/ a fabulous girlfriend.  What could be better?!?  I’ll always be dedicated to my heels, but I do love the trend of the riding boot because they are so wonderfully comfortable and cute!

Fashionable Sportswear?

 DSCF5273 DSCF5278DSCF5274 DSCF5282 DSCF5276

After our horrendously embarrassing loss this weekend, it may not be the best time to represent the Cincinnati Reds, but… I did wear Reds gear to work on Friday, so I figured I might as well share it with you!

How to wear sports gear fashionably?  Wear it with something unexpected!  Fabulous pumps?  Fun skirt?  Jewelry and dark professional jeans?  Whatever makes you smile!

Blogging

Some of things I’ve learned from blogging…  What is blogging?

Blogging is an art.  You have to have time and passion for it.  The more time and passion you have for whatever you’re blogging about, the better your blog will be.  I love having a fabulous outlet for sharing pictures, fashion likes / dislikes, chatting with amazing fashionistas…, and I always wish I had more time / energy to put into it, but for now, I’m enjoying it and giving it what I’m able to!

Blogging is a teacher.  I’ve learned so much about my style by looking back on what I’ve worn!  I’ve learned what works well on my body type, what colors are flattering, what items I enjoy wearing and wear most often.

Blogging will open doors.  I’ve had some great opportunities to work with businesses in sampling clothing and beauty products, to meet wonderful people interested in like activities, and to get involved in the community.  Whatever your interest, you can find a blog with information on it!

Blogging can be scary.  When blogging, not only do you put yourself out there for people to view & critique, but you’re also putting information out there on your personal life – be careful!!  Keep things generic and be cautious of who you interact with.

Blogging is fun!  It shouldn’t feel like work!  If you enjoy what you’re blogging about, people will take notice and will come back time and time again.

What does blogging mean to you?

I can’t believe it – 1010 posts!  I never thought when I started a random little fashion blog to share my daily ensemble choices that it would become a part of my life for the next several years, but nevertheless, here it is!

I decided to count back in hundreds and visit some blasts from the past.  I’d also like to look back and find some of my favorite outfits.  Next week…  :)
